From Lipton Seat, let's take a look at the beauty of 5 provinces in Sri Lanka

Lipton Seat is another tourist attraction located in the Badulla district. The specialty of this is that you can visit all 5 provinces of Sri Lanka simultaneously. This is indeed a mountain top. Lipton Seat is a narrow ridge that joins three mountain valleys.

There are two routes if you want to go to Lipton Seat. The first and most popular route is the road to Haputale and passes through the Dambetenna tea estate. You can reach this place by traveling about 12 km from Haputale. The other way to get there is through Bandarawela Poonagala Nayabedda. In fact, both roads are extremely scenic. It is often covered with mist in the morning.

This place is also important because it is a testimony to the ancient Sri Lankan tea history. Thomas Lipton is the founder of the Dambetenna Tea Estate. He is said to have started this estate in the late 19th century. The Dambetenna Estate has 925 acres. The Dambetenna tea factory is also known as the largest tea factory in Sri Lanka. The best black tea in the world was produced in this Dambetenna estate. Today, Lipton is the name of the tea,  produced at this estate.

Lipton Seat is where Thomas Lipton rested. There is a statue of him today. He even had parties with his friends at this time. It is also said that he spent time with young girls.

This spot is visible in the Southern province of Devinuwara and Kirinda Lighthouses as well as in the Lighthouse in Trincomalee. Also seen in the Sabaragamuwa Province are the Samanala Mountains and Eheliyagoda, the Eastern and the Nuwara Eliya regions of the Central Province. But remember that there is nothing to see here on rainy foggy days. Also, staying here on rainy days is dangerous because of lightning. However, if you can get there at 12 noon on sunny days, you can see a spectacular view from here.

There is also a place called Catherine Seat, just a few kilometers away from this place. It is also known as the place where Lipton's wife rested. If you're going to Lipton Seat don't forget to visit Catherine Seat as well.

I have a small request from you all, please don’t pollute the area. If you brought something don’t leave it, take it home and put it into a dustbin. Enjoy the view, take photos do whatever you want but don’t pollute the environment. It’s our responsibility to keep our world clean.

Let's visit the infamous Deanston Mini World hidden on the top of Knuckles Mountain

Knuckles Mountains is another valuable ecosystem in Sri Lanka. So, there are plenty of places to visit in Knuckles Mountain. Among them are the historic village of Meemure, the Riverston or Pitawala Patana and the camp of Dothalugala. Yahangala is another place which became popular very recently. So, in addition to these places, the Mini-known tourist attraction is Deanston's Mini World.

The Knuckles Range has two major worlds. One is the end of Pitawala Patana. The other is the Deanston Mini world we are talking about today

This is located in Hunnasgiriya-Meemure road. So, if you ever visit Meemura, you can park your vehicle on the road and visit this mini world. About a kilometer from the trail, you can reach the end of the mini world. It is about 7 km from Hunnasgiriya town. It's not a big problem to travel because the tea estates around the road are beautiful. Two other Knuckles mountain peaks, the Nawanagala mountain and the Medamahanuwara hill  are also visible on the road. So, you won’t feel tired.

So, at about 7 km you will find the Knuckles Conservation Center. From here you have to get a permit to go to see this deanston worldview. After about one kilometer into the forest, you will see the end of the world. While passing through the forest, there is a small lake and resting place. It has a beautiful and stunning.

From the end of the world you can clearly see Udadumbara town, Kalugala, Talagune, Madugalla, Kandy-Mahiyangana road, Mahiyanganaya and Girandurukotte. If you fall down a very steep slope, you will never be able to recover. Therefore, it is important to think about your safety. Also, there are some tanks like Yahangala and Soreborea tanks. This is a very nice scene. I’m pretty sure you will enjoy the view.

So, if you are traveling to Meemura, don't forget to visit the Deanston Mini world. You should get your ticket from the Knuckles Conservation Center and visit our camp at Dothalugala. The place is still obscure and the environment is not polluted yet

I have a small request from you all, please don’t pollute the area. If you brought something don’t leave it, take it home and put it into a dustbin. Enjoy the view, take photos do whatever you want but don’t pollute the environment. It’s our responsibility to keep our world clean.

Don’t forget to visit this place if you are travelling Meemura.

             Thank you.

Diyaluma Falls is the third highest waterfall in Sri Lanka's waterfront directory. It has a height of 171 meters and it is the 361st highest waterfall in the world. It is a beautiful waterfall and attracts a large number of local tourists as well as foreign tourists.

Diyaluma Falls is located in Koslanda, Badulla District. To reach the waterfall you have to travel 24 km from Beragala junction to Beragala Wellawaya road. Also, if you are coming from Wellawaya, you have to travel 12km towards Koslanda and find this waterfall near the 124mile post. From this road you can enjoy the spectacular view of the waterfall.

You have to go through the Koslanda to Poonagala Bandarawela route to get to the top of the waterfall. At the top of the waterfall is a strange beauty. Some swim on top of it. But if you get to the top, pay more attention to your safety. Because a small mistake can have a major impact on your life.

This waterfall is fed by the Poonagala stream. Dr. RL Brohoyer says that there is a legend around this waterfall. According to him, a relationship between an old king and a low caste woman in Sri Lanka surrounded the falls.

If you are visiting Badulu Town, don't forget to visit this beautiful Diyaluma Falls. If you come to Badulla by train, you can come to Haputale and visit this waterfall in a short time.

At last I have a small request from you all, please don’t pollute the area. If you brought something don’t leave it, take it home and put it into a dustbin. Enjoy the view, take photos do whatever you want but don’t pollute the environment. It’s our responsibility to keep our world clean.

Rawana falls is another beautiful and well-known waterfall in Sri Lanka’s waterfall list. This magnificent waterfall is located on the Ella-Wellawaya road near Bandarawela town in Badulla district. If you’re visiting Bandarawela don’t forget to visit the beauty of this place.

The beauty of the waterfall the water falls down in two steps meaning there are two falls. It has a height reaching around 25 meters. You can get a good view of the fall from the view point located right next to the falls but be aware because there is a possibility you might get kissed by the cold water. The gigantic Kirindi Oya feeds the water to this fall. This water attraction is surrounded by a jungle.

The area around the fall is dry most of the year. The rain fall is mostly in the last three months of the year and also from May to June. During these two seasons it might get dangerous cause there is going to be so much water that you might be able to reach the view point.

Let’s go Worship the Nelligala International Buddhist Centre

Nelligala is one of the most visited places in the last few years. I wanted to search about this place, because I saw some photos which were posted by my friends, finally I started to gain details of this temple. The nelligala is indeed a pilgrimage site.

https://www.facebook.com/harshana.piyasinghe.5

If you are visiting Kandy don’t forget to visit this place. The temple is located at a distance of 12km from Kandy. Normally people use to visit Peradeniya Malwatte, Gadaladeniya, Ambakka, Lankathilak temples and Ambulwawa tower when visiting Kandy. So next time make sure that you won’t miss this place to visit.

When you travel a short distance from Pilimatalawa town you will reach polgahamula junction on Colombo-Kandy road. The Nelligala International Buddhist center is located in Kobhekaduwa village which is about 7km after passing Murutalaw on the road to the left.

This shrine was created few years ago under the concept of Ven Watura Kumbure Dhammaratana Thero. This shine consists of 75 feet high Chaitya and a large Dharmashala where the relics of Lord Buddha is kept.

The tourist is attracted by this place, the reasons for the attraction is the beauty of this place.it has an absolute beautiful surrounding environment Hanthana, Knuckles mountain, Aludeniya mountain, Alagalla, Batalegolas, Ambuluwawa, Samanala mountain and Pidurangala mountain tops are clearly visible at this place. Chilly Dunhinda Fall

Dunhinda fall is one of the most popular water fall in Srilanka. It is located in Badulla-Mahiyangana road. As you travel through Badulla-Mahiyangana road you will reach Badulla town, from the Badulla town you should travel 5km until you reach the Dunhinda junction, within 10 minutes you can reach the Badulla junction.

https://www.facebook.com/TheTravelPhotojournalist/

The hardest task starts from there, you should travel 2km by walking from the junction. But there are tuck shops side by the road, where you can buy refreshments. Those tuck shops are run by villagers, where you can rest and refreshed. Don’t forget to bring fruits when you are travelling, because there are monkeys, you can feed them and at the same time you can restore your energy.

This is an exhausting journey, but when you reach the Dunhinda water fall you will feel the time you spend is worthy. The beauty of this water fall takes all your stress and tired away. The height of this water fall is 65 meters. The best time to enjoy the view is in the morning, the freezing air and the singing birds makes the view so beautiful. Dunhinda stream is fall out as Dunhinda waterfall.

A view point is built by our government, where you can enjoy the view safely. If you want more adventure you can go down to the bottom of the waterfall and enjoy the stunning view. The water is so cold down there, try touching it you will feel the coldness.

When you go down to the bottom of the water fall don’t try to bath, because the water level suddenly rises, you can be dragged by the water. So, it’s too dangerous. In rainy days don’t go down, its extremely dangerous. Just try to enjoy the view from the view point.

About 1km away from the Dunhinda water fall there is another small waterfall called little Dunhinda. No one can go near it, but it can be seen when you are walking through the road. The beauty of this little waterfall is the same as the main one.

I have a small request from you all, please don’t pollute the area. If you brought something don’t leave it, take it home and put it into a dustbin. Enjoy the view, take photos do whatever you want but don’t pollute the environment. It’s our responsibility to keep our world clean.

Don’t forget to visit this place if you are travelling Badulla.

Thank you

18-Bend of The Journey from Kandy to Mahiyanganaya

18-bend is located in Kandy, Srilanka. When you start the journey from Kandy, you have to travel about 60km to reach the beginning of the 18-bend. This is the one and only, and the deadliest route in Srilanka.

As we take the history of the 18-bend, there were 18 bends located. But due to the improvement of the road (reasphalted and widened) and they removed the last bend. But still our people use to call it as Daha ata wanguwa (the 18-bend Road) even though it has 17 bends.

As I informed it as the deadliest bend, its more inconvenient when you take the beauty of the sceneries, which brings you joy and happiness. At the top of the mountain, which is the beginning of the 18-bend you can observe actually about two provinces, Uwa province and the Eastern province. With the beauty sceneries we can feel the smell of the nature which is brought by wind blowing toward you. As you start the journey from top to bottom, you can see tanks which is made by our ancient kings, such as Sorabora tank, Ulhitiya tank and Rathkinda Reservoir with the paddy fields which our farmers grow crops and distribute whole over the country.

By the government they have built a view point, where travelers can rest and relax by enjoying the view. I am pretty sure as you get down from your vehicle at this view point, you won’t feel getting back into to your vehicle, as you will feel like you stepped into the heaven.

In the British Era the journey of the 18-bend was the deadliest and complex journey, because those days there were no proper roads.

From 1950 to 2000 we couldn’t travel this bend without reversing our vehicle. So now you can imagine how the width of the road would have been. There was no any protection from the sides of the road. If two vehicles met together they struggle for about one hour to pass each other, at the same time there were many occasions which the vehicle rolled out from top to bottom.

The most stunning situation is that the people who lives close by thinks that there are spirits trapped, some of them have seen and experienced paranormal activities. So the people does not travel alone at night. If you want to experience this kind of a situation try going out alone in this road, which I would never do.

If you take the height of 18-bend it’s about 500 meters, imagine how the bends are located, imagine how they would have travel long ago?

This 18-bend is located in a tropical area, I totally forgot to mention that if you are travelling don’t forget to take fruits with you, because there are monkeys in the road and you can feed them when you are travelling.

At last I would like to invite you all to enjoy the beauty of this journey. Hope you all will enjoy the 18-bend. Thank You

Rathna Ella Water Fall in Hasalaka

Rathna ella is located in Hasalaka, Kandy district, you should travel through the 18 bends to find this location. I have written about the 18 bend on my last article, check that out too if you want to know about the 18 bends. When you travel through the main road this water fall can be seen (Kandy to Mahiyangana).

                                                                          https://www.facebook.com/uditha.madushan.566/

When you travel through the main road you will reach hasalaka town. from there you should travel until you reach the “Rathna ella wasama”. Then you will find a small pathway along a small stream which is named as hasalaka stream, you should travel a small distance along that pathway. Then you will reach the 10th highest waterfall in Srilanka, which is called the “Rathna ella”. The height of the water fall is 101 meters.

This journey won’t be difficult as you can ask the directions from the villagers, where they are willing to help you. Or try to hire a guide. Try learning Sinhala, it will help you a lot

In rainy seasons (October to February) this road become muddy. So, the travelers struggle to travel through this pathway. Most of them doesn’t travel in the rainy seasons due to this problem. If you are travelling at rainy seasons be careful of leeches.

When we take the history of this place, there is rumor that king Rawana and Seethadewi bathed on this waterfall. King Rawana is a demon king of Srilanka. When I heard those word from villager I talked with, I felt so interested.

Rathna ella is the most beautiful and stunning location in Kandy district. The trees, and the birds make it more beautiful. Once you enter this place you will feel like you want to bath, but don’t try to bath near the waterfall, because people have been dead trying to bath near the waterfall. I don’t have an explanation for that but please don’t do it, because it’s extremely dangerous. As you come back through the pathway there are many places to bath.

At last I have a small request from you all, please don’t pollute the area. If you brought something don’t leave it, take it home and put it into a dustbin. Enjoy the view, take photos do whatever you want but don’t pollute the environment. It’s our responsibility to keep our world clean.

Thank you
